| High Street at Hudson Before Work Began |

Overview:
Project limits: Lane to Arcadia
on High Street, including all side streets up to the
first alley, Dodridge Street to Neil Avenue and
north on Neil to Glen Echo Ravine. Hudson Street
work extends from Neil to East Avenue.
This project
will make it easier and safer for cars, bikes and
pedestrians to get into and through this important
neighborhood. This project will revitalize this mix
of residences and businesses known as Old North
Columbus.
Improvements:

Storm sewers
to alleviate flooding during heavy rain storms
and to keep waterways cleaner by separating
sanitary sewers and storm water

Sidewalks

Curbs,
including ADA curb ramps

Traffic

Smooth,
repaved road surface

widened intersection at Hudson and High streets.

over-the-road arches…..one at Lane, the other at
Arcadia….to welcome people to Old North Columbus
This section of
High Street will be signed for motorists and
bicyclists…as part of the 8-mile share-the-road
corridor from Downtown all the way to Morse Road.
Forty new bicycle racks will be placed in this area.
Construction Cost: $15.8
million, including inspection.
Traffic will be maintained on
High Street. Expect some short-term closures or
restrictions on Hudson Street and various side
streets in the project area. The project is expected
to start in June 2008 and be complete by the fall of
2009.
